Jersey was the best dog anyone could ever have hoped to be owned by!!  I remember planning for her arrival from the Dye's (Raintree Boxers) in Dallas, Oregon, tracking her trip across the US and picking her up at Newark Airport where she ran out of her crate, took a quick pee and jumped full force onto my lap.  I remember her first show at 6 months (Sand & Sea), her taking third in her class of 33 (Brindle 12-18mo class) at ABC 2001 with Diego Garcia at the other end of the lead, and that 3rd and 4th major at the Philly shows to complete her championship with none other than me on the other end of the lead! If there was one thing that Jersey loved to do, it was to show and she loved to move! She could fly around that ring effortlessly!

Jersey gave me the opportunity to accompany her around the floor at MSG (Westminster) and made us both famous in the neighborhood and among the locals when the Asbury Park Press ran an article with our picture and headlines that read "Tinton Falls Man and Jersey Girl Go for the Gold" just prior to that unforgettable Westminster show.  I would be out walking Jersey and people would stop and ask "Is that Jersey Girl from the newspaper?" and then wish us luck for a good effort at the "Big Show".

My wife and Jersey shared a Birthday (Jan 11) however, Jersey was always less than willing to share me with the "other half" even though my wife was willing to share me with Jersey!  Jersey always managed to separate us if she felt we were too close!  She was jealous of any female no matter what species if they garnered my attention!

I could ramble on forever, but truth be told I'll always be forever grateful that I had the opportunity to be loved and to be owned by the most loyal companion that anyone could ever ask for.

On September 29, 2009  I held Jersey's head in my lap as her suffering came to an end.  She was sent on to the Bridge where I'm sure she is back to her carefree and fun loving antics and trying to teach her daughter "LJ" some manners!

Thanks to Christina Ghementi for putting me in touch with Dick and Patricia Dye so many years ago and assisting with my being owned by CH Raintree's Jersey Girl.

A piece of my heart will always belong to my "Jersey Girl" - there is absolutely nothing like a "JERSEY GIRL"!
